Are you saying “he dumped me. How will I ever survive and mend my broken heart?”. This article alone may not be do it but a little help with what’s listed here certainly will. Just remember you are not a broken person and you are not the only one.

When you’ve been in the position that “he dumped me,” you have two fears. One being that your heart will never recover. And the other is you will never be loved again.

While the pain is real and the fear is certainly real, have heart. In the real world these thoughts are not real, but only in your head. While it’s only one part of your life that is over, it feels like your whole life has ended.

I’ve listed some great songs and movies to help you heal your broken heart and get you through this rough time.

If you wanting to wallow in self-pity, well here are some great songs to cry to:

You Keep Me Hangin On – The Supremes
What Goes Around…Comes Around – Justin Timberlake
Un-break My Heart – Toni Braxton
Somebody Kill Me – Adam Sandler
Here Without You – Three Doors Down
With or Without You – U2
My Happy Ending – Avril Lavigne
Precious Things – Tori Amos
Nothing Compares 2 U – Sinead O’Connor
You Were Meant for Me – Jewel

At some point you are going to reach the stage where you are going to be looking for some serious girl power, then listen to these great break up songs:

I will Survive – Aretha Franklin
Shut Up – Black Eyed Peas
Since U Been Gone – Kelly Clarkson
It’s My Life – No Doubt
You Oughta Know – Alanis Morrisette
Survivor – Destiny’s Child
Irreplaceable – Beyonce
Before He Cheats – Carrie Underwood
These Boots Are Made For Walking – Nancy Sinatra
There You Go – PINK!

If the songs are not enough, then sit down and watch these movies with some of your closest friends.

  1. Closer
  2. Wedding Singer
  3. The War of The Roses
  4. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
  5. Chasing Amy
  6. Swingers
  7. Better Off Dead
  8. Kill Bill
  9. Dancer in the Dark
  10. High Fidelity

There are many emotional times during a break up and you’ll find each of these songs and movies shows a different part of it. You don’t want to go through this alone, since some aspects are easier then others. Invite your friends to tell their break up stories, I’m sure there are some great ones there, don’t push your friends away. If we realize we are not alone is sometimes enough to get us through our misery.

You’ll find that sense of desperation you felt when he first dumped you is slowly fading away as you begin to let the world back in. And, those fears you had, you’ll find that they are totally unfounded. You will find someone to date again, that is the truth. Somewhere out there your soul mate is waiting.

Your ex may have done you a favor by breaking up with you because now you have a chance to find someone who fits you better. And, always remember, the best revenge when “he dumped me” is to move on and mend your broken heart!
