What ever happened to the good old fashioned “to do” list?
In this modern era of electronic gadgets and computers to keep track of everything and supposedly take all the effort out of our everyday lives, why does it seem like we’re more disorganized and stressed out than ever before? Personally, I think we undervalue a pad of paper and pen these days.
Some of my most productive days happen when I’ve listed the top items I want to accomplish on a simple sheet of paper. Not only do I have a great idea of what I need to do for the day in just a couple of seconds, I also get to experience that wonderful feeling of crossing off a finished task from the list when it’s completed.
I’ve also experienced a total lack of productivity when I skip this step. For me, it works best when done the day before. So, for me to achieve optimum results I plan the next day right before I finish the current day. I simply list the things I need to do in the priority in which they need to be done. When I get started the next day there is no question of what needs to be done.
