If you are a drinker, you need to quit. Drinking alcohol is a big no-no for diabetics. It is okay with extreme moderation (no more than 20 ounces per evening) but if you have a hard time regulating your alcohol consumption it is better that you stop drinking completely. You blood sugar levels can get a bit crazy if you drink alcohol. This makes if tougher for Type 1 diabetics to manage their levels of insulin and tough for Type 2 diabetics to keep watch of their sickness. Plus, the empty calories don’t benefit anyone.

Diabetes is a tough disease to treat. Many diabetics go through several treatment failures before they the treatment method that works best for them. Many diabetics have to confront a lot of failures with their medications before the treatment technique that works the best for them is recognized.
