A trader who methods the foreign exchange market as a hobby will only devote time to his trading when it doesn’t meddle with other far more crucial facets of his life. He won’t usually have a plan, and if he does, he believes it is optional to stick to his plan. He does not keep a trading diary of all his trades, and generally takes no thought of any cash management principles. He’ll trade whatever money he has at the time, and if he loses it all, will simply deposit more to his account when it’s convenient. The probability of making a long-term profit in this fashion is nearly zero.

It is astounding what quantity of folks either consciously or subconsciously method forex trading with this mindset. This method is one stage eliminated also from the “hobby” trader. This type of trader doesn’t believe that it is feasible to make a long-term profit in forex, but trades nonetheless because of the “thrill” of the game.

He throws money at the marketplace like a roulette wheel, and most who trade with this idea also earn a profit for a short period of time. They will continue to trade, lose money, and add cash to their account till they’re either out of trading capital, in debt, or become bored of the game.

The trader who methods the forex market as a business of course has the highest probability of making a long term profit, and even making it his fulltime work. He will apply all of the aspects of running a legitimate business to his enterprise, including a trading plan, correct cashflow management, long term planning, and continuing education.

To be fair, one method isn’t intrinsically “good” or “bad”, but depending on which one you select, will have a completely different result. If you decide to approach the foreign exchange market as a pursuit, or even as a game, then understand that the price of enjoyment of your hobby or game will be particularly high. If, on the various hand, you take it as a company, with a long term mentality, then you may one day reach the enviable position of a “professional trader”, who earns his money ( and better ) from the foreign exchange market.
